Greetings 👋! Welcome to my journal page where I share useful resources, my thoughts, ideas, experiments and more. Make sure to check back periodically to see what I'm up to.

  • Visualizing Engineering – A Practitioner’s Perspective on Engineering Education

Visualizations are integral to the fields of science and engineering, serving as essential tools for both education and professional practice. In engineering education, visual representations are fundamental to problem-solving approaches, requiring learners to navigate complex information through graphical, conceptual, and mathematical components. This paper delves into the role of visualizations as didactic external representations – emphasizing the importance of design choices informed by both empirical evidence and craft-based knowledge.

  • Science Visualization Framework

Scientific visualization is crucial for understanding complex phenomena and communicating scientific discoveries. This chapter proposes a robust framework and accompanying toolkit that comprehensively defines the entire scientific visualization design process and provides practitioners with the knowledge required to make informed decisions and improve collaborations.

  • Portfolio Design Guide

Professionals in the field of scientific visualization and design use a portfolio website to represent their work as well as themselves. In the hunt for a comprehensive guide/checklist on portfolio design, I was unable to find a resource specifically for sciviz - and so, this project was born. I collaborated with Amy Zhang to create a Portfolio Design Guide & workshop on the topic.

This guide can be used as a standalone resource to design (or redesign) a website that meets your specific goals. Feel free to download this guide and let us know what you think (we are always looking for ways to improve this resource). CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.

  • Project Planner - Notion Template

Description goes hereWhether you're a student, working professional or freelancer, you can use this template to keep track of your day-to-day project tasks! This format has helped me stay on top of all my to-dos, organized by project, status and urgency. You can view the list in two formats: a 'Timeline' view and a 'Board' view. In order to use this template, you will need a Notion account (it is completely free). Once you have a Notion account, follow this link, & duplicate the template (see upper right corner of the screen). If you have any questions, please reach out anytime! CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
